2020 Debut at the Oglebay Institute’s Holidays at the Mansion
It was an honor to be asked to partner with The Jeweled Bird to participate in the 2020 Oglebay Institute’s Holidays at the Mansion. A Wheeling tradition since 1973, the Holidays at the Mansion event features uniquely decorated rooms by local artisans and businesses.
This year, we were asked to help envision a new holiday theme for the Mansion’s Federal Dining Room. The result? “Sew What Are You Wearing to Dinner?” is a novel combination of classic haute couture, fanciful birds, and plenty of gold and silver to catch the eye and hold it all season long!
We couldn’t be more pleased with the result and hope you feel the same way after perusing the event photos below.
We are very grateful to everyone who attended the event in person. If you missed it, no worries; enjoy the gallery of our favorite photos from the event below!

Our gold satin evening dress steals the scene as guests enter the Federal Dining Room at Oglebay Mansion.

Our silver satin evening dress adorned with a pearl collar from the Jeweled Bird greets Mansion visitors, while our mixed gold ensemble in the background coyly beckons for attention.

Is it better to receive or to give? In the case of these bespoke holiday-themed presents, we can safely conclude it's the former!
The Federal Dining Room's stunning dining table adorned with our gold lamé table runner.

Gold, silver, and a dazzling backdrop: who could ask for anything more?

A symphony of lights reflects off our silver satin evening dress, tantalizing the eyes.
A look from behind the table, with the home's original fireplace in the background.
A forest of light with recently fallen "snow" (white tulle) sets the scene.
Our bird friend overlooking bespoke fabric flower motifs caps the table's centerpiece.
It's easy to get lost in all the room has to offer. Only an in-person visit can truly do it justice!
As we close our holiday scene, we appreciate all the season has to offer. One stunning year ends but so much beauty awaits us in the next!

We were proud to be featured on the cover of Wheeling's Sunday News-Register Life Section on 11/15/20. We had a lot of fun decorating, and we invite everyone to see it for themselves! (Our room is the left photo.)
